What is A business coach?

Business coaching involves many aspects, and looks different at each point of the journey. Imagine the ultimate road trip; there is the enthusiasm, dreaming, thinking about where you want to go and what you want to see along the way. Then there is planning the route, packing, making sure you have the necessary equipment and resources to make it to the destination. Then there is the journey itself, encountering unexpected obstacles, setbacks, roadblocks that need to be navigated and overcome.

A business coach is someone who is going to be with you on that journey. At times they’re a listener, helping you come to a place of clarity on what you want and why you want it. At times they are a trainer, making sure you are equipped with what you need to succeed. At times they are a motivator (in such a way that is specific and unique to you, not all folks are motivated in the same way or by the same things). A business coach at all times, is someone who is able to bring to partnership the perspective of someone who knows you, knows your strengths, knows what it is your trying to accomplish, and is completely unaffected and unhindered by any self-doubt and internal, sometimes hidden obstacles that keep us from our goals.

Who should hire a business coach?

At the end of the day, we re all better off when we don’t go it alone. We are all better off when we have someone who has our back. There are business coaches and consultants out there for just about every industry and situation you can think of. My bread and butter specifically are self-employed folks (think ~1-25 employees size-wise) either in product or service-based industries.

How much does Business Coaching cost and how do I maximize my return on investment?

Business coaching in this case is an annual investment of $5700 that can either be billed annually or monthly ($475). As someone who had both hired a business coach and been hired as a business coach, here are a few tips from the trail to maximize your return on your investment!

  1. Have something you can take notes, collect ideas, and refer back to things later!

  2. Results are simply the inevitable consequence of actions. Carve out time immediately following the coaching appointment to take action on things that came up during the conversation.

  3. Like everything else in your business, treat it like an investment, expect to get a positive ROI, or reinvest those funds elsewhere.

  4. Be willing to be transparent and honest.

My goal in working with you is three-fold:

  1. Help you accomplish what you want to accomplish

  2. Help you get a positive ROI on your investment in business coaching

  3. Serve you in such a way that you are genuinely excited to share the same good experience with those you care about.
